Talofa lava,

Our commitment to raising awareness within New Zealand’s Pacific communities about COVID-19 and its impact continues with a Pacific People’s campaign series being launched tomorrow (Wednesday).

Working alongside government, Pacific media agencies and Pacific clinicians, we bring together a weekly social media, radio and TV broadcast in our nine Pacific languages: Te Reo Māori Kuki ‘ĀiraniVosa VakavitiTe taetae ni KiribatiVagahau NiueFäeag RotųamGagana SamoaTe Gagana TokelauLea Faka Tonga and Te Gana Tuvalu.

Video’s will be released each week on Wednesday on social media, followed by radio bulletins on Thursday and then a special TV3 (Three) broadcast on Friday, at 4pm (and replayed every Monday at 11pm).

You will be able to view the videos on the Ministry for Pacific Peoples Facebook page, YouTube channel and the government’s COVID-19 website.

This week our videos focus on:

  • The “golden rules” of alert level three
  • Updates for Pacific peoples from the Ministries of Health, Education and Social Development – outlining what support services are available
  • Wellness tips for our mental health
  • Some positive updates on how families in the community are coping with the COVID-19 environment.

Stay safe in your bubble.
